Pine Valley softball defeats Sherman in playoffs
SOUTH DAYTON — Kaylee Crisanti threw a complete-game five-hitter to lead the Pine Valley Lady Panthers high school softball team to an 8-0 win over Sherman on Thursday to start the Section VI Class D playoffs.
Crisanti struck out five and issued two walks. Teammate Kayla Hohl was 3 for 3 with a walk, scored two runs and had a RBI. The Lady Panthers’ Malori Waag was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs batted in.
For Sherman, Sofia Rater had two hits and Amaya Lewczyk struck out eight.
Pine Valley now heads to No. 1-seeded Franklinville for a game set to start at 4:45 p.m. Monday.
