Blue Devils boast a pair of second place finishers

The Fredonia swimming and diving team took on Geneseo and Grove City in a tri-meet on Saturday in the Steele Hall Natatorium. McKayla Polowy (Silver Creek) was the top Blue Devil finisher, placing second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:34.47. She was third in the 500 free in 5:34.32.

Erin Kalsman was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:24.47. Alyson Baumann was fourth in the 200 free in 2:04.87.

The Devils did not capture any individual victories swimming against the defending SUNYAC champs, but head coach Arthur Wang noted there several significant drops in times for the men and the women.

McCormick runner-up off both boards

The Fredonia swimming and diving team took on Geneseo and Grove City in a tri-meet on Saturday in the Steele Hall Natatorium. Sophomore diver Patrick McCormick was second off both boards. Off the 3m board he scored a 234.35, and posted a 205.75 off the 1M board.

Junior Cameron Criss was third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.04.

Despite not capturing any firsts against the defending SUNYAC champs, there were several significant drops in time from Fredonia swimmers, according to head coach Arthur Wang. Criss posted season beast in both the 50- and 100-yard frees. His 100 time was 49.34.

Next weekend, both of the Devils teams play host to the University of Rochester and Alfred U. in another tri-meet.
