Two still perfect in contest

There are two who can claim a perfect 11-0 record after 11 weeks of the National Football League season — and both hail from our area.

Bob Scott of Fredonia and Cheryl Phillips of Dunkirk remain in the running for the $200 prize in the OBSERVER’s Survivor contest. In what started with more than 140 players, both Scott and Phillips have correctly chosen one winning team each week while others have been eliminated along the way.

It sounds easy enough until once you use select a team, it cannot be chosen again.

Both contestants also could have been bumped out in the early going. Scott in Week One selected Green Bay, which barely defeated the Chicago Bears. Phillips in Week Two had New Orleans, which won on a missed Cleveland Browns field goal.

This week, both Phillips and Scott have 21 teams left to choose from and six teams are playing on Thanksgiving.
