Dunkirk boys, girls bowling sweep Southwestern

JAMESTOWN — The Dunkirk Marauders boys and girls bowling teams swept Southwestern in their first match of the season on Wednesday, with each winning 4-0.

For the boys, Dunkirk posted a 876-976-811-2,663 scoreline to top Southwestern’s 658-634-711-2,003 final score. Leading the Marauders was Trevor Skelly (181-208-189-578), Jacob Glowniak (206-524), Tristen Skelly (189-215-185-589) and Jaxson Pencer (194-175). Southwestern had one score of note, Alex Nelson with 225-173-234-632.

For the girls, Dunkirk finished with 777-687-743-2,207 while the Southwestern girls posted 443-468-490-1,401. Dunkirk’s Makayla Pasierb (230-202-164-596) led her team to victory.

Dunkirk will bowl next on Monday against Chautauqua Lake at Lucky Lanes.

Forestville girls move to 12-0

FREWSBURG — The Forestville Hornets high school girls bowling team won its third straight contest to begin the year, with a 4-0 sweep of the Frewsburg Bears on Wednesday night. Forestville managed a score of 636-650-586-1,872, while Frewsburg tallied 577-557-540-1,674.

Ashley Forbes led the Hornets with a 203 game and a 518 series score. Tristan Olsen had a 192 game and a 488 series score. Frewsburg’s Katelyn Bean had a 164 game and a 475 series to lead the Bears, while Brianna Warner had a 159 game and a 460 series.

The Forestville boys were not as fortunate on Wednesday, as the Bears took care of the Hornets, 3-1. Frewsburg scored 883-869-862-2,583, while Forestville only won the third game, with a total of 746-759-882-2,387.

Malik Williams led Frewsburg with a 225 game and a 575 series, while Brendan Randall had a 221 and a 562 series. Jared Walsh also had a game over 200 with a 201, and had a 557 series.

Forestville was led by Nate Barlette-Dye with a 213 game and a 567 series. Zach Barlette-Dye had a 205 game and a 499 series.

The Forestville girls now sit at 12-0, while the boys are 9-3. Frewsburg’s girls are now 0-4, while their boys are 7-1.

Forestville is off for more than a week, until next Friday, at Maple Grove.

Randolph sweeps Brocton

The Brocton Bulldogs bowling team dropped its second match of the year, 4-0, to Randolph on Wednesday. Randolph finished with 721-758-787-2,266 while Brocton totaled 578-693-666-1,937.

Brocton was once again led by Jordan Krystofiak, who led all bowlers with a 552 series, tallying games of 202 twice for the Bulldogs. Brocton’s second leading bowler was Savanna Krystofiak who bowled games of 172 and 155.

Randolph was led by Tyler Rowley, who bowled a 520 series with games of 202 and 182. Kameron Finch added a nice night for Cardinals, bowling games of 182 and 171.

Brocton (0-8) will bowl again at Lucky Lanes on Monday against Maple Grove.

Silver Creek sweeps Clymer-Sherman

CLYMER — The Silver Creek boys and girls bowling teams both took home victories to start their seasons, beating Clymer-Sherman at Cutting Lanes on Wednesday. For the boys, they posted a 718-765-696-2,179 linescore to beat Clymer-Sherman who scored 536-422-484-1,442, winning the match 4-0.

Leading the way for the boys was Dan Paterson, who bowled 215-231-186-632 to help the Black Knights get the win. Silver Creek also got nice games from Jeff DeBergads (157, 161) and Vincent Crino (152).

Silver Creek is now 4-4 on the year.

For the girls, they won by a final score of 3-1 while posting a 527-497-523-1,547 line over Clymer-Sherman who finished with 529-483-490-1,503.

The girls were led by Andrea Olsen (170-176-488) and Laneya Olsen (167-446).

Silver Creek is now 3-9 on the season.

Fredonia splits with Falconer

JAMESTOWN — The Fredonia Hillbillies bowling teams split a pair of matches with Falconer on Wednesday, with the Fredonia boys winning 4-0, while the Fredonia girls fell 3-1.

For the boys, Fredonia (8-0) finished with scores of 992-1001-998-2,991 while Falconer was just behind them at 836-963-928-2,727.

Leading the boys team was Bryson Pacos (226-209-613), Mike Dispense (226-212-213-651) and Trace Mackenzie (218-245-646). Also bowling some good games for Fredonia were Jacob Marsh (201) and Jacob Patterson (226).

For the girls, Fredonia (5-3) scored 604-653-679-1,933 while Falconer totaled 792-666-656-2,114 to grab the win.

Leading the girls team was Savannah Salim (180-459) and Chris Anne Mosher (156).

The Fredonia bowling teams will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Jamestown Bowling Co. to face the Southwestern Trojans.

Jamestown sweeps Chautauqua Lake

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown opened its season with matching 4-0 wins over Chautauqua Lake, Wednesday, at Jamestown Bowling Co.

In girls action, the Red Raiders rolled a 694-684-751-2,129, while the Thunderbirds (0-8) rolled a linescore of 334-421-369-1,124.

In boys action, the Red Raiders rolled a linescore of 898-934-1,024-2,836. The Thunderbirds (0-8) had a linescore of 395-453-399-1,247.
