Dunkirk swimming takes loss to Olean

The Dunkirk boys swim team had another tough match on Friday, losing to Olean 93-56.

It was tough for Dunkirk to get going, as being out number almost two to one really cut into them. Dunkirk did find success in the relays, as they won the 200 yard medley relay with Adam Fred, Josiah Cox, Owen Bates and Peyton Ahlstrom along with the 200 freestyle relay with Bates, Fred, Ahlstrom and Steven Zentz. The 400 freestyle relay comprised of Fred, Cox, Bates and Ahlstrom also claimed victory.

Individually, Bates won the 100 butterfly and Fred won the 50 freestyle.

“This was a great meet,” said Dunkirk coach Allie Saye. “The guys had some impressive times and we had several great finishes. Olean swimmers have great sportsmanship and Dan Brown is a fair and just opponent.”

Dunkirk will swim again in Olean on Dec. 11.
