Fredonia bowling breaks record

The high school bowling season started Monday with Fredonia hosting Chautauqua Lake at Lucky Lanes. Both the Fredonia boys and girls swept the match 4-0 with the Fredonia boys breaking the school record for high series of 3,154 that was set last year.

In the boys match, Fredonia rolled 1,064-999-1,104 for a new school record of 3,167. Chautauqua Lake shot 453-410-346-1209.

High games for Fredonia included Jacob Patterson with games of 277-214 and a 670 series. Jarett Maslak rolled a 236-211 and a 616 series. Sam Kawski (246), Ethan Klemann (238), Jacob Marsh (225), Zachary Kawski (224), Trace Mackenzie (215) and Bryson Pacos (201); all broke 200 for the Hillbillies.

Kris Snyder led Chautauqua Lake with a 310 series.

“It was a great way to start the season and a nice team win. All ten bowlers rolled games which makes it even more special. We still have some work to do with our spares,” said Fredonia coach Tom Battaglia.

In the girls match, Fredonia shot 739-626-614-1,979. Chautauqua Lake rolled 331-301-359-991.

High rollers for Fredonia were Gillian Reed with a 179 game and a 485 series. Elizabeth Bumpus had a 164 while Savannah Salim rolled a 159.

Cheyenne Foster rolled the high score for Chautauqua Lake with a 241 series.
