Dunkirk girls, Fredonia boys win the lanes

The Dunkirk Marauders girls bowling team took on rival Fredonia in a Section VI, bowling matchup at Lucky Lanes on Wednesday night. The Marauders took care of business, topping the Hillbillies, 4-0.

The Marauders rolled an impressive 886-838-921-2645, compared to the Hillbillies score of 690-686-695-2071.

Dunkirk saw notable performances from Rachel Glowniak with 237-203-231-671, Hannah Ellman had 159-158-176-493, Mariah Glowniak rolled 190-159, Olivia Corbett had 203, Summer Clark with 190, while the trio of Makayla Pasierb, Whitney Hice and Tayler Skelly each bowled a 159.

Fredonia was led by Savannah Salim with 149-148-157-454, Gillian Reed with 138-139-175-452, Allie Cook had a 159 and Ashleigh Hellwig shot a 151.

Both Dunkirk (31-1) and Fredonia (17-11) will next bowl on Monday, at home. Dunkirk will face Southwestern and Fredonia will face Falconer.

In the boys match, Fredonia swept Dunkirk with the ‘Billies breaking the school record of 1,116 for a high game twice in the match. Fredonia rolled 1,128-1131-898-3,157, topping Dunkirk’s line of 975-834-820-2,629.

Leading Fredonia was Jacob Marsh (258- 278-216-752), Trace McKenzie (234-235-653), Jacob Patterson (263-634) and Bryson Pacos (243-211-613).

High rollers for Dunkirk were Tristen Skelly with 224-207-617 and Jared Glowniak with a 212-199.
