DeMarco’s solid night not enough, Wolverines fall

CLYMER — Kate Honey hit a 3-pointer and Arden Hepler scored the final five points for Clymer in overtime as the Pirates beat Westfield/Brocton, 46-40, in Division 2 West play.

The Wolverines’ Sophia DeMarco tied the game with a bucket with 15 seconds left to play in regulation to send it into the extra period.

Honey then hit her big shot and Emma Wiggers added a basket for Clymer before Hepler put the game away.

“Right off the tip, she came down and hit a 3-pointer,” Clymer coach Scott Neckers said.

Honey led the Pirates (4-13, 1-9) with 12 points while Mikala Einink had 10 points and Hepler chipped in nine. Wigers grabbed nine rebounds and Hepler had four steals.

DeMarco led Westfield/Brocton (3-14, 1-7) with 20 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots while Mary Conklin had eight points and five steals.
