Fredonia drops its first game to Harbor Creek, 9-6

HARBOR CREEK — The Fredonia Hillbillies traveled to Harbor Creek ( and suffered a loss, 9-6, in a Section VI non-league baseball game, at Harbor Creek High School. The Hillbillies pitched by committee in their first game of the season, but saw varsity firsts on a very young roster.

The Hillbillies saw Colton Kuzdale, Gabe Schrader, Dominic Gullo and Dalton Gardner all got their first varsity hits. But the primary offense came from Anthony Gullo who doubled and Alec Schrader and Trey Schwartz each singled.

“It was great to be outside playing baseball,” said Fredonia head coach Vince Gullo. “We saw many positives and many correctable mistakes. We’re a very young team, and it was a nice start to our season.”

Harbor Creek saw the majority of their offense come off the long ball as Mark Smith and Jim Vaughn each hit a three run home run and Steve Smith provided a solo shot.

Fredonia (0-1) will start their league season on Monday when they host Falconer.
