The Cattaraugus Community Center put on a Learn to Skate and Play Hockey this winter, from January to April 6. Bob Maxick (pictured in the back row center with hat on) was the main coach and he had help from several other volunteers. They taught the kids ages 5-12 not only how to ice skate but the fundamentals of playing hockey. For most of the kids this was new and they gained the love of hockey. Thank you to all the coaches and CCC for putting this program on.

The CCC is on RTE 438, on the reservation. The program was $50 total for the three months and it provided most of the equipment the kids needed as part of the fee. Advanced kids were able to work on their skills while the inexperienced went from not knowing how to skate to being able to skate backwards.
