The New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA) announced the All-State boys basketball teams for the 2018-19 season. Four local standouts earned Honorable Mention selections, while many others from Section VI received high honors.

Silver Creek Black Knights basketball star Brady Woleben was named an All-State Honorable Mention for Class C boys basketball. Silver Creek finished 13-8 in 2018-19, while Woleben played in all 21 games.

After a successful season that saw the Forestville Hornets reach the Class D sectional final game, a pair from Forestville were named Honorable Mention for Class D — sophomore Javier West and senior Luke Szumigala. West and Szumigala each played in all 23 games for the Hornets and each averaged double digits in scoring. West averaged 11.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game as a guard, along with nearly four steals per game. Szumigala averaged 10 points and 9.8 rebounds per game from the post.

Tyler Robinson of North Collins was also named Honorable Mention from Class D. He averaged 15 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game in 17 contests for North Collins.
