Hoffman, Cameron lead Fredonia at Shorewood CC

The Fredonia Hillbillies golf teams hosted Jamestown and Olean on Tuesday at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. Jamestown’s Caden Salvaggio and Olean’s Marina Heister came out as the medalists in the contests.

For the boys, Salvaggio shot an even-par 39 on the day, six strokes better than the competition. Jimmy Christ was second on Jamestown with a 46, while Olean had an evenly balanced score sheet — Sam Mest, Drew Brokaw and Liam Taylor all tied at 49 to lead the Huskies, while Talon Stitt shot a 52 and Kamdyn McClain shot a 54. For Fredonia, Lucas Hoffman and Nick Novelli both broke 50, with Hoffman at 45 and Novelli at 47. Callan Britz shot a 50 for the Hillbillies.

For the girls, Heister shot a 44 on the day, three strokes better than her competition. Jamestown’s Jenna Stockwell and Lexi Salvaggio each shot a 47, while Sarah Pillittieri shot a 48. Fredonia’s standout was Caroline Cameron, who shot a team-best 52.
