ONLINE ONLY: Randolph beats Westfield baseball, 9-3

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Wolverines baseball team fell to Randolph in a non-league baseball contest at Westfield Academy on Tuesday evening by a score of 9-3.

Westfield led the contest 2-0 after the fourth inning, but Randolph came out with four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead and never looked back.

Dylan Scriven started for Westfield, but was pulled in the fifth inning with four strikeouts and two walks to his name. Nathan Culbreth came on in relief and was charged with the loss. Brad Babcock also saw the mound for Westfield in the defeat.

Ashton Bushey pitched four innings for Randolph to earn the win. Mason Pagett pitched in relief for the Cardinals, as did Tom Chapman. Pagett was 2-for-4 with a run scored at the plate.

Westfield travels to Chautauqua Lake today to face the Thunderbirds in their regular season finale, before a sectional playoff game likely on Friday.
