Monday Night Men’s Golf League (July 8) — Low scores were had by Fred Chamberlin 36, Matt Wallace 37, Dave Kobel 38, Tim Bulger 40, Adam Meyers 41, Drake Piazza 41, Bob Warsitz 41, Brad Blizzard 42, Randy Butts 42, Don Mansfield 42, Dave Pihl 42 and Al Shaw 42.

The low net was had by Brian Wojcinski with a net of 27.

Closest to the pin was Fred Stern on No. 6.

Skins were had by Fred Chamberlin with a birdie on No. 2, Matt Wallace with a birdie on No. 6 and Brian Wojcinski with a birdie on No. 7.

Fredonia Little League fall registration next week

Registration for Fall Ball (both softball and wood bat baseball for children league age 8-12) will be held at the Fredonia Little League complex, 42 Clinton Ave., from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both Monday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 17.

The season will be played on eight Sundays from Aug. 11 through Sept. 29. Registration is $40 per player. Registration forms will be available and can also be found on the league’s website: www.FredoniaLittleLeague.org.

New this year, the league is looking to pilot a shorter, machine-pitch league for players league age 7-9, if there is enough interest. Players must have already played in a machine-pitch league or have a coach recommendation from their coach-pitch league.

Kickball tourney set July 21 for medical research

SILVER CREEK — The public is encouraged to participate in the 5th annual One Small Kick for Prader-Willi Syndrome kickball tournament scheduled Sunday, July 21, on the campus of the Silver Creek Central School District, 1 Dickinson St.

Prader-Willi is a rare and incurable genetic disorder characterized by intellectual disabilities and behavior problems, among numerous other symptoms. Tournament proceeds will support One Small Step for Prader-Willi Syndrome and international walks/events benefitting The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research.

The cost to register is $200 for teams of 8 to 12 players or $20 per player if signing up as an individual. Sign-ins start at 9 a.m. with games at 10 a.m. and an awards presentation at 12:30 p.m.

Gym Rats Basketball Camp set for July 22-26

The Fredonia boys basketball program will be hosting its seventh annual ‘Gym Rats Basketball Camp’ this July at the Wheelock Primary School Gym. The camp is for boys and girls ages 4-9 and will be held the week of July 22-26. The camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily. Campers will participate in lead-up games, relay races, and a lot of passing, dribbling, ball handling and shooting.

All campers get a free t-shirt, basketball and daily snack. The cost for the camp is $75 or $115 for two family members.

Tri-County Youth Football Clinic set for July 26

The 18th Annual Tri-County Youth Football Clinic will be held on Friday, July 26 from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Gateway Park in Gowanda. Offensive skills will be taught along with a touch football tournament, awards and pizza party. The clinic is free of charge and open to the first 40 athletes ages 7-13 that register by calling clinic director Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@gmail.com.

Gowanda 16U softball tourney set for July 27

Gowanda Recreation will hold their annual 16U girls fast pitch softball tournament on Saturday, July 27 at Gateway Park. This is a four-team, round tournament with each team guaranteed three games. Awards and prizes for each team that participates. Entry fee is $65. Call Recreation Director Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@gmail.com to register a team.

Annual Grape Belt Open is Aug. 10 at Pinehurst

The third annual Grape Belt Open is set for Aug. 10 at Pinehurst Golf Club, in Westfield. The event is a four-person scramble format and includes refreshments, dinner and awards. All proceeds benefit the Grape Discovery Center, allowing the center to continue and operate as a non-profit, encourage tourism and educate all about the grape growing history in the Lake Erie Region. They are currently seeking Tee and Corporate sponsors for the event. Tee sponsorship is $50. If interested or with questions, call Lisa at (716) 969-4859.

Randy Goss Memorial tournament is Aug. 17

The 19th annual Randy Goss Memorial golf tournament will be on Aug. 17 at The Vineyards Golf Course with a 9 a.m. shotgun start (be at the course by 8:15). This is a two-person scramble format, $60 per golfer. That includes 18 holes of golf, cart, CTPs on every hole, skins, lunch and dinner by Freds at Dom Polskis club.
