For the record
Pro-Bats Yankees 10, Cassadaga Marlins 6
The Marlins (4-5) jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first two innings, aided by some shoddy Yankee defense, but did not tally again as the Yankees (8-1) totalled 9 runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings for a dramatic comeback win. Dylan Caldwell (2 hits, 2 runs) and Kevin Rose (2 hits, run) led the Fish attack, while hitting machine Doug Clarke launched a 2-RBI double in the 1st inning. The Yankees got a perfect day at the plate from Dennis “Waxy” Gawronski (2 hits, 4 RBI, run), while Weston Ley (2 hits, 2 runs, RBI) delivered two key doubles. Evan Carmello added two hits of his own and Winston Woodard II scored a key run in the late inning rally. Matt Eaker (3-1) shut the door after the 2nd inning on the Marlins, to earn the Yankee victory; a complete game performance, allowing only two earned runs. He was aided by the late defensive gems of Justyn Vara (unassisted double play), Matt Pantano at third base and Stony Woodard in left field. Rose and Doug Gerould toed the slab for the Marlins, allowing 12 hits, walking four and striking out two Yankee hitters.
