The Fredonia 8-10 Girls All-Star team won the Sanctioned District 38 title on Tuesday with a 13-8 win over Westfield. Fredonia was lead by Naomi Muck, who was stellar on the mound. She struck out 12 batters and allowed two hits. She also led the offense with a triple, while Jenna Fryberger also collected a single. Fredonia started the tournament with a 18-16 win over Dunkirk. Fredonia then beat Westfield in a marathon affair, 24-23. Westfield came storming back the next game, winning easily 15-5, which set up Tuesday’s winner-take-all championship game. Fredonia will be moving on to the sectional tournament next week.
