Emily Brown wins girls race in Collins

COLLINS — Emily Brown of Fredonia took first place in the girls cross country race at Collins Conservation Club with a time of 18:50 on Tuesday in a 2.85 mile course. In a meet featuring Fredonia, Allegany-Limestone, Southwestern and Gowanda, it was Fredonia who came out on top with 38 points as a team. Allegany-Limestone was second, Southwestern third and Gowanda fourth. The Fredonia boys finished third out of the four schools, as Southwestern’s Eddie Scroxton won the boys race in a time of 16:06.

Petrella, Jacques finish in top five

FALCONER — Dunkirk’s Jericha Petrella finished fourth and Siera Jacques was fifth in the Tuesday’s girls cross country race at Breezewood Country Club in Falconer. Petrella finished in 20:34, while Jacques finished in 21:54.

Maple Grove’s Ava Christ (19:09), Abby Brunenaus (20:13) and Tina Peppy (20:31) were the top three female finishers. Maple Grove won the team race with 19 points, while Falconer was second and Dunkirk third. In the boys race, Dunkirk was incomplete, while Maple Grove edged out Falconer for the win. Bryce Baglia (16:59) of Falconer won the boys race.
