STTC Summer Tri Series Winners
The third season of the Southern Tier Triathlon Club (STTC) Summer Tri Series came to a close on Wednesday evening, Sept. 4, in Cassadaga. The Club holds a sprint triathlon four Wednesday nights each season, June through September. Open to anyone interested in fun competition and physical fitness. Blue Devils hosting kids day on Saturday
The Fredonia Blue Devils men’s and women’s soccer teams are hosting a kids day, Saturday, Sept. 14 during both games (women’s at 1 p.m., men’s 3 p.m.). Kids day will consist of free admission to any kid and they will receive a free hot dog and water, along with boomsticks, while supplies last. The women’s team will play Elmira, while the men’s team plays Grove City.
Registration open for Oct. 12 Ruterbusch Run
Registration is open for the 2019 Fred Ruterbusch Memorial 5k Run & Walk, to be held Saturday, Oct. 12 starting at 10 a.m. on a campus road course at SUNY Fredonia.
The online pre-registration link is at fredoniabluedevils.com. Pre-registration is $20. There will also be on-site registration starting at 9 a.m. the morning of the race. The cost will be $25. Registration for all Fredonia State students is $5.
All proceeds will benefit the Fredonia State Cross Country and Track & Field teams.
Awards will be made to the overall male and female finishers to the top three runners in the following age brackets: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & up.
In addition to the age-bracket awards, a Kids’ Day is planned — activities in Steele Hall Fieldhouse supervised by track & field team members — and a Kids Run following the 5k.
