Fredonia cross country star Emily Brown finished sixth at the Pre-State Meet at Plattsburgh over the weekend. She ran a time of 19:12 in the first varsity girls race of the day.

“It was a great opportunity to learn the State Meet course and to race against some of the top girls in the state. It is important to understand the terrain and the layout of the course to help with physical and mental training. It helps runners develop a strategy for racing,” said Fredonia coach Carol Zirkle. “Emily raced well and learned some important strategy to apply to big races during the rest of the year.”
