Frewsburg tops Pine Valley

SOUTH DAYTON– Gavin Swanson scored both goals in 2-0 win for Frewsburg over Pine Valley in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division boys soccer action Monday.

Devin Wolfe had an assist on one of Swanson’s goals.

Caleb Carr made three saves in the shutout for the Bears (1-2-1, 1-0-0).

Frewsburg put 14 shots on the Pine Valley (1-4-0, 0-1-0) net.

Warriors 2, Black Knights 1

SALAMANCA–Neland Cummings and Darec Funke each scored for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley in a 2-1 nonleague win over Silver Creek/Forestville.

Cummings scored in the sixth minute of the first half and Funke tallied six minutes later.

Jarret Pond made eight saves in net for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (3-1-0) while Jeremy Wilcox had eight saves for Silver Creek/Forestville (1-2-0).

Red Dragons 3, Hillbillies 1

MAPLE GROVE –Maple Grove scored twice in the second half to put away Fredonia in a 3-1 nonleague win on Dutch Hollow Road.

Caleb Foley opened the scoring from Nick Golando 15 minutes into the first half for the Red Dragons (4-0).

Golando made it 2-0 eight minutes into the second half off a pass from Adam Marsh.

Juan Matias broke up the shutout 17 minutes into the second half for the Hillbillies (0-2), but Kevin Ruhlman answered with 15 minutes left to give the Red Dragons their two-goal lead back.

Sam Cummings made 13 saves for Maple Grove, which directed 19 shots at the Fredonia net.
