MAYVILLE — The Fredonia Lady ‘Billies had quite an impressive first meet of the season on Tuesday. When it was all said and done, three Lady ‘Billies qualified for sectional meets and Fredonia came out on top of Chautauqua Lake by a score of 134-46, Tuesday, at Chautauqua Lake High School.

Tori Spacciapolli and Amelia Harper were each triple-winners on Tuesday, each qualifying for Sectionals and the Class B meets. Spacciapolli won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.83 and the 100 butterfly in 1:03.70 to qualify, while Harper won the 200 IM in 2:32.47. Spacciapolli and Harper were also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team for Fredonia, while Harper was also a winner on the 400 freestyle relay team.

Julia Fortna of Fredonia was a double-winner on Tuesday, taking home the title in the 500 freestyle and winning in the 400 freestyle relay. Fredonia’s Abby Roth won the 100 backstroke with a final time of 1:18.01.

In her first swim meet, as a seventh grader, Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer came away as the winner, with what Fredonia coach Joanne Lotter describes as an “incredible” 247.05 score.

“We had a great start to the season, with multiple people qualifying for Class B and sectionals,” said Lotter. “We’re looking forward to Thursday at home.”

The Lady ‘Billies are back in action Thursday against Gowanda.
