The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds fell 3-0 to the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley Golden Cougars in Chautauqua Lake on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Thunderbirds (2-1) were outshot 19-1 by the Golden Cougars (3-1-1) in what was a dominating offensive attack for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s trio of goals came from three different players, with the first coming from Sarah Disbro, then Grailyn Paladino, with the final tally coming from Isabella Penhollow on an assist from Ali Davis.

Hailey Roush was strong for the Lady Thunderbirds in net making 16 saves, despite the loss, while Grace Lundmark of Falconer/Cassadaga Valley denied the only shot attempt she faced on the afternoon.

In their first meeting of the year, Chautauqua Lake was able to edge Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 2-1, evening their season series.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley is next in action at home against Olean on Thursday, Sept. 12, while Chautauqua Lake will take a trip to Silver Creek on that same day.
