Brocton falls at the hands of Panama

PANAMA — The Panama Lady Panthers showed once again why they are one of the best girls volleyball teams in the state on Tuesday with a three set win over the Brocton Lady Bulldogs. The scores were 25-9, 25-9 and 25-6.

Panama (10-0, 7-0) had Natalie Angeletti lead the way with six kills, along with an assist, a dig, two aces and nine points. Kylie Schnars had four kills and three blocks, while Ashlyn Harvey had five kills, two aces, a block and 10 points. Maddie Johnson had 11 assists and three points. Panama has only lost a total of three sets all year long.

Brocton (0-8, 0-7) had two kills, a block and a dig from Brianne Murphy, while Cheyanna Rivera had three digs, a kill, an assist and a block.

Brocton travels to Southwestern on Thursday, while Panama is at Clymer on Thursday.

Chautauqua Lake 3, Southwestern 0

LAKEWOOD — The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds volleyball team made quick work of the Southwestern Lady Trojans on Tuesday, with a three set victory over the home team at Southwestern High School. The scores were 25-20, 25-12 and 25-13.

Chautauqua Lake was led by Lily Woodis with 14 digs, along with five kills, three aces and two blocks. Jenna Waters had 11 digs and five aces, while Mackenzie Zemcik had six digs, five kills and an ace. Brynn Engdahl added five kills, three digs and an ace.

For Southwestern, Arrington Restivo had 10 assists, while Megan Cotter added six digs and five kills. Sophia Tallon eight digs, while Lauren Cotter had six digs, three kills and a block.

Chautauqua Lake (6-1, 6-1) heads to Sherman on Thursday, while Southwestern (3-6, 3-3) hosts Brocton on Thursday. Chautauqua Lake’s only loss on the season came against unbeaten Panama.
