Bulldogs, T’birds fall in CCAA South volleyball contests

FALCONER — The Falconer Golden Falcons defeated the Brocton Lady Bulldogs in four sets on Thursday in a CCAA South girls volleyball match at Falconer High School.

Falconer (8-7, 8-4) was led by Emily Melquist with 11 kills, five digs and an ace, along with Serena Camarata’s 12 digs, nine assists, five aces and four kills. Rachael Harper added nine aces, eight kills and four digs, while Ava Fenton had 14 assists, four digs, two aces and two kills, and Julia Mead also had four aces and four digs.

Brocton (1-12, 1-10) had Tiffinie Santiago lead the way with six digs and four assists, while Jenelle Grigelevich had four digs, two kills, an ace and a block. Cheyanna Rivera had three kills, two digs, two blocks and an ace.

Falconer travels to Randolph tonight, while Brocton hosts Chautauqua Lake next on Tuesday.

Panama 3, Chautauqua Lake 0

MAYVILLE — The Panama Panthers took down the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds in three sets on Thursday night in CCAA South girls volleyball action, by scores of 25-11, 25-1, 25-14.

The Panthers (16-0) were paced by Kylie Schnars who had 21 kills and five blocks, while Natalie Angeletti added 12 kills, seven blocks and two digs. Maddie Johnson put up 33 assists and three digs for the Panthers and Mandy Brink had 15 digs and two kills.

Chautauqua Lake (9-2) is next in action on Tuesday, Oct. 22, where they will travel to Brocton to take on the Bulldogs at 5 p.m. Panama will see the Maple Grove Red Dragons come to them on that same day for a 6:30 p.m. start time.
