Fredonia cross country teams win at Lake Erie State Park

The Fredonia Hillbillies boys and girls cross country teams each celebrated senior day with a victory, with team victories at Lake Erie State Park over Randolph and Frewsburg on Tuesday afternoon.

In the girls race, Fredonia won with a score of 25, followed by Randolph (47) and Frewsburg (57). Emily Brown won the race with a time of 20:15. The rest of the top 10 are as follows: 2. Acacia Barber, Frewsburg 20:42; 3. Savannah Lashbrook, Fredonia 21:42; 4. Elisabeth Root, Randolph 22:20; 5. Julia LeBaron, Fredonia 22:27; 6. Ashlyn Ambrose, Fredonia 22:37; 7. Rylee Gore, Frewsburg 23:33; 8. Lucy VanRensselaer, Randolph 25:25; 9. Amanda Graham, Randolph 25:33; 10. McKenna Miller, Fredonia 25:36. Fredonia’s Anna Schroeder (26:44) and Marah Long (27:45) rounded out the winning team.

“Emily, Savannah, Anna and Marah are all seniors who ran their last home meet today. All girls raced very well today. I am very pleased with the improvements we are seeing as championship season is approaching,” said Fredonia coach Carol Zirkle.

In the boys race, Fredonia and Randolph tied with 38 points, while Frewsburg was third at 46. Fredonia won the meet on the tiebreaker thanks to Avery Willibrandt’s 12th place finish. In addition, “Chris Annear, Adam Lesch, Ledreth Velez-Olmo ran great races today,” said Zirkle.

Fredonia seniors for the boys team are: Chris Annear, Avery Willibrandt, Matt Abbatoy, Cedric Howard, Jackson Osborne-Coy and TJ Stokes.

The top finishers from the boys race are as follows: 1. Ronan McDonald, Randolph 18:01; 2. Josh Walters, Randolph 18:12; 3. Chris Annear, Fredonia 18:22; 4. Toby Gifford, Frewsburg 18:40; 5. Roan Kelly, Randolph 18:53; 6. Adam Lesch, Fredonia 19:09; 7. Noah Collins, Frewsburg 20:26; 8. Owen Ludwig, Fredonia 20:27; 9. Declan Gibbons, Frewsburg 20:27; 10. Fred Gullo, Fredonia 20:36; 12. Avery Willibrandt, Fredonia 20:48; 21 Matt Abbatoy, Fredonia 22:17; 24. Cedric Howard, Fredonia 23:14; 32. Jackson Osborne-Coy, Fredonia 35:05.
