Emily Brown sets school record in 3000m, qualifies for 5K at Nationals

Fredonia’s Emily Brown runs in the 3000m at Fredonia State. In the first indoor track meet of the season, Fredonia’s Emily Brown won the 3000m run with a time of 10:24; a PR and new school record by more than 30 seconds. This time qualified Brown for the 5K at nationals. Savannah Lashbrook of Fredonia was 2nd in the 3000m in a personal best time of 11:16.34. Savannah also took third in the 1500m in a time of 5:38.19. Ava Cook was 1st in the 55m in 7.88 sec. In the High Jump — Kelly Lucas took 2nd with a jump of 4′ 8“, Mackenzie Swan was 5th with 4′ 6”, and Abby Lauer was 8th with 4′ 0″

“The team got the season off to a good start. We had a number of great performances from young athletes as well as the veterans,” said Fredonia coach Tom Stokes.
