Forestville falls to Frewsburg, 61-34

FORESTVILLE — The Frewsburg Bears (1-0) got off to hot start to the season with a big Section VI nonleague boys basketball victory over Forestville, 61-34, on Friday night at Forestville High School.

Frewsburg got off to a slow start and trailed after one quarter, 9-7, but quickly heated up in the second and took the lead into halftime, 26-13. The Bears got better as the game went on as they finished on top 61-34.

The Bears were led offensively by Brad Nelson with 22 points and eight rebounds, and Aaron Hair with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Peyton Hayes added nine points.

The Forestville (1-1) effort was led by Javier West with 10 points and two steals and Jake Smith with seven points, six rebounds and four steals. Dalton Hastings added seven points and nine rebounds in the effort.

“Frewsburg has a couple good shooters they made some good shots,” said Forestville head coach Jon Feniello. “We did not execute everything to full potential tonight.”

The Hornets are back in action on Monday in Panama.
