David Ball had the standout weekend for the Hillbillies, with a 7-0 record, while Alex Christy found himself at 6-0. Mike Ball and Ceric Kristan each went 6-1, and Dalton Gardner, Yanni Acevedo, Hunter Larson, Lucas Hoffman and Jack Storm each had five wins. Gardner, Acevedo and Storm each had five pins.

“We were a little banged up and sick,” said Fredonia coach Joe Santilli. “But we persevered and picked our spots, and won the matches we needed to. We’re looking forward to moving on with the season.”

Fredonia is next in action against Randolph on Tuesday at Fredonia High School, where the Hillbillies will be collecting peanut butter and jelly to donate to the Friendly Kitchen at Rural Ministries in Dunkirk.
