OLEAN — The Fredonia boys wrestling team braved the weather and took to the mats in Olean on Wednesday night and came out victorious, 60-25.

Coming in off a big weekend, the boys came out a little flat according to Fredonia coach Joe Santilli, but they still managed to get a big win over the Huskies.

“I thought we came out flat and didn’t wrestle with the energy I hoped for,” stated Santilli. “We’re definitely going to need to be more purposeful this weekend at the Pioneer Duals.”

Despite wrestling flat, the Hillbillies got some big wins on the mats. The Hillbillies had five boys get a victory by way of pinfall, that included Lucas Hoffman, Dakota Planty, Dalton Gardner, Ceric Kristan and Yanni Acevedo.

The Hillbillies are back in action this weekend at the Pioneer Duals, starting on Friday.

Coach Santilli stated, “I am looking forward to seeing us rebound and get back after it.”
