Dunkirk Elks Lodge No. 922 has sent five local qualifiers from the November Hoop Shoot contest to the District competition.

The District Hoop Shoot contestants were the Dunkirk qualifiers, and individuals from other areas of Western New York. When the day was finished, two individuals from the sponsored Dunkirk Elks Lodge #922 emerged as having the highest number of foul shots in their age groups. The sister act will now advance to the Regional Hoop Shoot being held on Feb. 1.

The sister act is better known as Tegan and Jadyn Trocki from Frewsburg. Tegan has been to the regionals last year. Some may remember her as being a state winner in the Hoop Shoot. This is Jadyn’s first year competing in the Hoop Shoot and she is off to a good start.

The Regional Hoop Shoot begins at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Southside located on 2244 Franklin St.
