Forestville is dealt second league loss by Franklinville

FRANKLINVILLE — The Forestville Hornets (6-7, 3-2) were dealt their second Section VI CCAA Division 2 East loss of the season on Friday night against Franklinville, 54-52, at Franklinville High School.
The Panthers ( got off to a hot start in the first half and built an early lead on the visiting Hornets, eventually get up by double-digits in the half. Forestville was able to make adjustments at halftime to eventually bring the score even near the end of the game at 52-52.
“We started off slow,” stated Forestville head coach Jon Feniello. “Franklinville hit a lot of deep shots in the game, they had a high percentage.”
But when it mattered most, Franklinville hit the shots they needed to, eventually taking the lead courtesy of Tyler Clear at the free throw line.
“We were able to make some adjustments to tie the game,” stated Coach Feniello. “But they were able to come away in the clutch.”
Franklinville was led offensively by Logan Frank with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Clear had 12 points.
The Hornets offense was driven by a big game from Javier West with 26 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Gavin Christian scored 16 points and Jake Smith had six points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Forestville will look to get back on track Tuesday night when they host Gowanda in a nonleague matchup.
