Fredonia swimming downs Panama, 96-72

PANAMA — The Fredonia boys swim team found a victory over Panama on Tuesday night, winning 96-72 at Panama high school.

Fredonia started off the evening winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay, with the team of Finn Frerichs, Ronan Murphy, Matt Brockelbank, and Andrew Allenson finishing in a time of 2:01.56, about three seconds before the second place Panama team. Fredonia’s next even wein came in the sixth event, when Ronan Murphy won the 100 Yard Butterfly in 103.39, 32 seconds faster than the second place finisher, fellow ‘Billie Max Corrente.

Fredonia won the next event, the 100 Yard Freestyle, led by Matt Brockelbank finishing in 55.55 seconds, followed by teammate Brad LaGrow in second, with a time of 103.33.

The team of LaGrow, Brockelbank, Allenson, and Nick Wittmeyer won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in 1:48.88, then Brockelbank went on to win the 100 Yard Breaststroke a couple events later, in 1:11.27. Murphy, Frerichs, Wittmeyer, and LaGrow would close out the night with another ‘Billies win, taking home the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay in 4:14.01, while the ‘Billie team of Chris Annear, Jonas Jones, Joshua Reynolds, and Max Corrente took second in the event.
