Gowanda falls to Frewsburg, 39-25
GOWANDA — The Gowanda Panthers lost a Section VI, CCAA Division 2 wrestling match against the Frewsburg Bears on Tuesday at Gowanda High School by a score of 39-25.
The match began at 120, when Frewsburg’s Braiden Waddington defeated Emma Schindler by a pinfall at 1:06. At 126, Frewsburg’s Brayden Coleson defeated Gowanda’s Kaleb Smith by a 14-2 majority decision. Frewsburg won via forfeit at 132, then both sides forfeited at 138. There were also double forfeits at 285 and 99. Frewsburg’s Jaiden Slagle won by a technical fall at 145 in 3:46; Tyler Eckman won by a pin for the Bears at 182; and Mackenzie Muller pinned Mia Hudson of Gowanda at 113.
Gowanda’s big wins on the night were by Ethan Fort with a pinfall in 1:46 at 160; Everette Golden with a 9-1 decision at 170 and Michael Horth won by a 11-7 decision at 106.
The Panthers are back on the mats tonight at Franklinville.
