The Fredonia Hillbillies boys swim and dive team defeated the Olean Huskies by a score of 92-83 on Thursday at Fredonia High School.

Fredonia’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Ronan Murphy, Nick Wittmeyer, Finn Frerichs and Matt Brockelbank took first place with a time of 3:57.80. The same relay team also took first in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:59.38.

Those same four swimmers also won individual events for the Hillbillies. Murphy won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.14, Wittmeyer won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.55 and the 500-yard freestyle in 6:16.03, Frerichs won the 200-yard IM in 2:31.39, and Brockelbank won the 100-yard freestyle in 54.35 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.39. Also for Fredonia, Brad LaGrow won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:24.26.

Panama 92, Dunkirk 64

PANAMA — The Panama Panthers defeated the Dunkirk Marauders in a boys swimming contest at Panama High School by a score of 92-64.

Pietro Viviani won the 100-yard backstroke for Dunkirk in 1:22.87, while Owen Bates won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.81 and Adam Fred won the 200-yard IM in 2:26.43.
