Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds host ‘Ballin for a Cure’ charity game with Maple Grove

MAYVILLE – Chautauqua Lake’s Girls Basketball program teamed up with Maple Grove’s Girls’ Basketball program to raise funds for the Western New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during the “Ballin for a Cure” charity game on Friday, Feb. 13.

On Wednesday, Feb. 19, Superintendent Benjamin Spitzer, along with the Chautauqua Lake Girls’ Basketball team, presented Lauren Orlowski, the Development Manager of the Western New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, with a donation of $1,148.00.

Athletes and coaches from both schools, parents, volunteers, and Chautauqua Lake’s Thunderbird Athletic Club all gathered to make the “Ballin for a Cure” charity game successful. All proceeds raised went towards the donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

“It was great to see everyone come together and rally behind this great cause,” said Secondary Principal and Supervisor of Athletic Programs, Dr. Joshua Liddell.
