ALLEGANY — The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (10-6, 6-4) spoiled the Allegany-Limestone Lady Gators (3-14, 2-8) senior night, with a 42-36 Section VI CCAA Division 1 West girls basketball win, at Allegany-Limestone High School on Thursday night.

After the long bus ride to Allegany, the Lady ‘Billies looked pretty sluggish in the first half against the Lady Gators and trailed 18-15 at halftime. Fredonia got it together for the second half and outscored the Lady Gators 17-8 in the third quarter. With a six point lead headed into the final quarter, Fredonia held off the Lady Gators for the tight 42-36 victory.

Fredonia was led by Nagely Vazquez with a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks, while Kelly Gullo was the leading scorer with 14 points, Anna Buchanan added seven points and six board and Kazlin Beers had seven assists.

The Lady Gators effort was led by Tierney Hemphill with nine points and Gianna DeRose with eight points.

Fredonia is back in action tonight for Senior Night against Southwestern.
