MAYVILLE – Carrie Sands poured in 23 points to lead Sherman to a 56-37 nonleague girls basketball victory over Chautauqua Lake on Thursday.

The Wildcats outscored the hosts 33-15 in the middle two quarters to build a comfortable lead. They end the regular season 16-4.

Maggie Myers had eight assists, Jenna Fisher had four assists and MacKenzie Gratto added three steals for the winners.

Lily Woodis scored a game-high 25 points for the Thunderbirds (12-8). Hannah Weise and Rebecca Henry had eight and seven rebounds respectively, Alexis Jacobson collected four assists and four steals, and Mercedez Obert chipped in a pair of blocks.
