Steelers hockey falls in playoffs to Olean in OT

It was one game and done for the Dunkirk-Fredonia Steelers hockey team on Monday night.

In Olean, the team fell in the first round of the Mixed Division playoffs to the Eagles in a close contest by a 6-5 score. It was the final game for seniors Zachary Korzeniewski, Ethan Brunner, Cooper Harris and Austin Rott. Dawson Bird, a junior, led the team in scoring with 13 goals and 11 assists during the regular season.

The Steelers split a pair of games in the regular season with Olean, with a 4-3 win Dec. 1 at Olean and a 6-3 loss in Fredonia at Steele Hall on Jan. 16.

With the loss, the Steelers finish the season at 7-11-2.
