MARAUDERS WIN CLASS B-1 TITLE
BUFFALO — It was far from easy.
The Dunkirk Marauders held off the Iroquois Chiefs in a wild finish to win the Section 6 Class B-1 title at Buffalo State this morning, 79-76. With more than 2 1/2 minutes to play in the fourth quarter it appeared the Marauders were well on their way, holding a 12-point lead.
But the Chiefs would not go away without a fight. After a quick 8-0 run, the Chiefs had the Marauders scrambling.
After Jessica Beehler hit two free throws with less than three seconds left, a half-court heave was missed to secure the Marauder victory.
