The NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island began on Thursday and conclude this weekend. Fredonia’s Oliver Madariaga is competing in the 300 meter run; Emily Brown is running in the 1,500 meter race, and Hessen Bahgat is competing in the Pole Vault. Locally, Dunkirk’s Jericha Petrella is also competing at the State Meet in the 600 meter run, while the relay team consisting of Randolph’s Josh Walters and Ronan McDonald, Cassadaga Valley’s Rayven Sample and Maple Grove’s Riley Auer will run the 1,600 meter relay race. Cassadaga Valley’s Cervonte Thomas and Frewsburg’s Zach Heberlein will be alternates for the relay.
