Lakewood’s Vaughn leads WNYPGA Jr. Tour’s stop at The Kahkwa Club

Max Vaughn of Lakewood shot even par to win the Western New York PGA Jr. Tour’s stop at The Kahkwa Club on Thursday.

Vaughn fired a 34 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine to finish with a 72, three shots better than Allegany’s Michael Davis in the Boys 16-18 Division.

Dan White of Lakewood was 11th.

In the Boys 13-15 Division, Rochester’s Jason Starkweather finished at 3-over to win by two strokes. Lucas Hoffman of Fredonia was third at 9-over.

Clarence Center’s Tori Leach won the Girls 16-18 Division while Josephine Corey of Lakewood was second.

Lancaster’s Kylie Dean won the Girls 13-15 Division.

In the Boys 9-Hole Division, Evan Maloney of Jamestown was first at 9-over. Ryan Kelly of Fredonia was one shot back while Jordan Kelly of Fredonia finished third.

On Wednesday, Ryan Colwell of Farmington finished with a 2-over 74 to lead the Boys 16-18 Division in the Bobby Steele Memorial at Shorewood Country Club.

Vaughn was tied for fifth at 10-over and White was 12th.

In the Boys 13-15 Division, Cal Deck of Amherst, Owen Corby of Pittsford and Alexander Schickling of Hamburg all tied for first at 4-over. Hoffman was seventh.

Marina Heister of Olean led the Girls 16-18 Division at 6-over while Corey was third.

In the Girls 13-15 Division, Katie Caryl of Erie, Pennsylvania led at 15-over.

Halim Habib of Amherst led the Boys 9-Hole Division at 1-over while Jordan Kelly was second at 3-over, Maloney was third at 4-over and Ryan Kelly was fourth at 7-over.
