WNYPGA Jr. Tour holds ‘56 Showcase’

Max Vaughn of Lakewood was the top local finisher at the Western New York PGA Golf “56 Showcase” last week.

Vaughn shot rounds of 86-80 for a 166 total, which placed him in a tie for 13th. Lucas Hoffman of Fredonia finished in a tie for 27th after posting an 86-93-179.

Anthony Delisanti of Sanborn was the winner, shooting an even-par 69-75-144.

Julia Zigrossi of Spencerport won the girls event with a 16-over 80-80-160.

On Monday at Holiday Valley Resort, Lakewood’s Josephine Corey finished second in the girls 16-18 Division with an 88. Olean’s Marina Heister took first with a 1-over 72.

In the boys 9-Hole Division, Jamestown’s Evan Maloney and Fredonia’s Ryan Kelly tied for second with 44s. Fredonia’s Jordan Kelly was fourth with a 47 while Amherst’s Halim Habib won with a 43.

Corning’s Lirong Pei won the girls 9-Hole Division with a 45.

The boys 16-18 Division winner was Bradford, Pennsylvania’s Spencer Cornelius with a 2-over 72 while Lakewood’s Dan White was ninth.

Lancaster’s Michael Wolski won the boys 13-15 Division with a 3-over 73 and Erie, Pennsylvania’s Katie Caryl captured the girls 13-15 Division with a 95.

On Tuesday at Willowbrook Golf Course, Maloney shot a 42 to finish second to Habib’s 40 in the boys 9-Hole Division.

In the boys 16-18 Division, Cornelius won with a 4-over 75. Ethan Provino of Mount Morris and Alexander Schickling of Hamburg tied for first in the boys 13-15 Division with 2-over 73s. Lily Zhang of Amherst claimed the girls 13-15 Division with a 1-under 70 and West Seneca’s Kristina Visniesky captured the girls 16-18 Division with an 83. Tatiana Tutko of Clarence fired a 59 in the girls 9-Hole Division.
