Bigler is OT hero for Franklinville

FRANKLINVILLE — Emily Bigler scored from Sofia Bentley in the 14th minute of overtime to give Franklinville a 3-2 victory over Pine Valley/Gowanda in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division girls soccer Saturday.

All five goals were scored after halftime.

Bigler gave Franklinville a 1-0 lead from Sarah Courtney in the 48th minute before Chloe Luther tied the game for Pine Valley/Gowanda in the 53rd minute. Two minutes later, Kaylee Brennan scored from Bentley to make it 2-1 in favor of Franklinville before Alexis Tunstall tied the game for Pine Valley/Gowanda in the 57th minute.

Cheznea Rivera made 13 saves in net for Franklinville (3-4-0, 3-3-0) and Lyric Westlund made 14 saves for Pine Valley/Gowanda (1-5-0, 1-5-0).

GATORS BLANK JAMESTOWN

ALLEGANY — Olivia Paterniti netted a hat trick for Allegany-Limestone in a 4-0 West Division win over Jamestown.

Paterniti scored from Janie Missel in the fourth minute before Missel scored from Paterniti in the ninth minute. Paterniti then scored from Jane Brairton in the 27th minute to make it 3-0.

After halftime, Paterniti scored from Kristen McMullen in the 56th minute.

Kelsey Riordan made two saves in the shutout for the Gators (2-5-2, 2-4-2).

Jamestown fell to 0-5-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the league.

FREDONIA, DUNKIRK DRAW

DUNKIRK — Rylee Beers scored in the 79th minute as Fredonia forged a 1-1 draw with Dunkirk in West Division action.

Tachiana Garcia gave the Marauders (0-7-1, 0-6-1) a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute with an assist from Rachel Glowniak.

Fredonia fell to 4-2-2 overall and in the league.

EAGLES BALANCED AGAIN

ELLICOTTVILLE — Four different goal scorers helped Ellicottville top Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, 5-1, in nonleague play.

Brooke Butler scored from Audrey Hurlburt in the second minute for the Eagles before the Golden Cougars’ Michaela Olson tied the game in the fifth minute.

From there it was all Eagles. Mandy Hurlburt scored from Logan Fredrickson in the seventh minute, Emilee Ruiz tallied from Harley Ficek in the 13th minute, Mandy Hurlburt scored from Olivia Pitillo in the 45th minute and Logan Fredrickson tallied unassisted in the 67th minute.

Jenna Hadley made seven saves in net for Ellicottville (9-0-0, 7-0-0) while Grace Lundmark made five saves for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (4-5-0, 4-3-0).

RED DRAGONS TRIM EAGLES

NORTH COLLINS — Courtney Martin’s goal midway through the second half stood up as the winner as Maple Grove edged North Collins, 2-1, in the Central Division.

The Red Dragons broke a three-plus game goal-scoring drought early in the second half as Alex Daniels tallied from Megan Fischer in the 47th minute. In the 69th minute Martin scored from Fischer.

The Eagles got on the board in the 77th minute when Hailey Jasinski scored from Lina Young.

Kasie Craig made 10 saves in net for the Red Dragons (4-3-0, 4-3-0) and Michaela Rice made 13 saves for North Collins (0-9-0, 0-7-0).

OLEAN TAKES LEAGUE LEAD

OLEAN — Alexis Gibbons scored in the seventh minute of overtime as Olean trimmed Southwestern, 2-1 in the West Division.

Gibbons scored the Huskies’ first goal in the 67th minute before adding the winner from Delaynie Moore.

Emma Edwards made seven saves in net for Olean (6-1-1, 6-1-1).

Southwestern fell to 6-4-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the league.

RANDOLPH SHUTS OUT PORTVILLE

RANDOLPH — A pair of second-half goals lifted Randolph to a 2-1 win over Portville in the East Division.

Kyra Pence scored from Natalie Philp in the 47th minute and Ashley Crouse tallied from Philp in the 68th minute.

Miranda Waterman made 10 saves in net for the Cardinals (4-2-0, 4-2-0).

Portville fell to 3-3-0 overall and in the league.
