Vanstrom eighth, Redlecki fourth for Jayhawks

CORNING — The Jamestown Community College cross country team competed at the Red Baron Invitational hosted by Corning Community College on Saturday afternoon.

“This was a challenging course for our runners,” said head coach Sydney Beeman. “Our runners were up for the challenge and performed very well. This will help us get better as we enter the final stretch of our season.”

For the men’s team, Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown/Southwestern) led the way, placing seventh out of 25 runners. Vanstrom, who ran an 8K, finished with a time of 36:13.7.

The women’s team was paced by Emma Redlecki (Clymer /Clymer), who placed fourth out of eight runners. Redlecki, who ran a 5K, finished with a time of 29:49.4.

The Jayhawks will have a brief hiatus and will next be in action on Saturday, Oct. 24, as they travel to Finger Lakes Community College.
