Gowanda’s trap team claims 3rd fall-season conference title

Paced by the efforts of Cameron Wight and Rebekah Austin, the Gowanda Central School trap team claimed its third fall-season conference championship recently.

Wight, the top male shooter in the conference with an average of 23.2, was ranked No. 3 in the individual state rankings, while Austin, the second-ranked female shooter in the conference with an average of 17.8, was No. 7 in the state rankings.

Wight and Austin weren’t the only Panthers to have fine seasons, though.

Following is how other team members are ranked in the state: TJ Ackley, No. 16, and Adam Golden, No. 22, among the boys; and Olivia Latimore, No. 14 among the girls.

In conference action, Ackley was No. 4; Golden No. 5; Daniel Stang, No. 7; Sam Latimore, No. 12; and Tyler Smith, No. 14 among the boys, while Olivia Latimore was No. 5 among the girls.
