Moore named SUNYAC’s cross country coach of the decade

A Lakewood native and Southwestern Central School graduate has been honored by the State University of New York Athletic Conference in a big way.

Dan Moore, the head cross country coach at Geneseo, has been named both the men’s and women’s Coach Of the Decade as nominated and voted on by the institutions sports information directors.

A four-time SUNYAC Coach of the Year for the Geneseo men’s program (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019), Moore was also a three-time men’s cross country Atlantic Region Coach of the Year (2016, 2017 and 2019); led his team to five men’s cross country SUNYAC championship titles (2015-2019); four men’s Atlantic Regional championships (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019); and five consecutive top 11 finishes at the NCAA championships, including national runner-up in 2016. Moore has also coached five men’s individual SUNYAC champions (2015-2019); two individual men’s regional champions (2015, 2016); and four men’s All-Americans.

In his sixth season as the head coach of the Geneseo women’s team, Moore is a four-time SUNYAC Coach of the Year (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018); and five-time women’s cross country Atlantic Region Coach of the Year (2015-2019). He led his team to five SUNYAC championships (2015-2019); five women’s Atlantic Regional championships (2015-2019); and five consecutive top-10 finishes at the NCAA championships, including national runner-up in 2015. Moore has coached five women’s individual SUNYAC champions, one individual women’s regional champion and five women’s All-Americans.

Also receiving all-decade honors for their performances in SUNYAC women’s soccer, are Fredonia’s Reilly Condidorio, a forward from 2008-09 and 2011-12; Lauren Cullinan, a defense/midfielder from 2017 to the present; and Katie Kleine, a forward/midfielder from 2010-12 and 2014.
