Lucky Lanes recently held its Priscilla Seybold Memorial Singles Tournament on Feb. 14 for its Junior Bowling competitors.

Seybold spent most of her free time working with the youth bowlers at Lucky Lanes. She was an advocate for bowling at both the youth and adult levels.

Bowlers qualified during league play on Nov. 14 and Jan. 16 to enter the finals. Bowlers ranging in ages 6 to 18 filled the bowling center on Feb. 14 to compete for over $2,375 in educational assistance.

Scores used to determine the winners were based on three games bowled in the finals plus handicap. Divisions are based on the leagues the bowlers compete in regularly on Saturday and separated into girls and boys.

Winners of a $300 educational award in the Senior Leagues (ages 18 & under) were Tayler Skelly for the girls and Calvin Hilliker for the boys. Second place of $200 was awarded to Erin Schrantz in the girls division and Aiden Weber in the boys division. There were more bowlers in the boys division, adding a third place of $100 to Tyler Christopher.

In the Lucky Strikers Leagues (ages 15 & under), first-place finishers were awarded $200. Leah Hinds Morrison won the girls division for the second year in a row and Owen Rush won the boys. Second place for the boys was Cole Tenamore, who earned $100 educational awards. A $75 educational award went to Nathan Laurito, who finished third for the boys.

The Sunshine Leagues (ages 12 & under) each had a first-place award of $150 and second place of $75 for the girls and boys. Winners in the girls divisions were Emily Lillie and Jaylynn Fancher. The boys winners were Colby Colvin and Patrick Sheehan.

The youngest of our bowlers is the Bantam Leagues (ages 6 to 8). They started earning money to be put aside until they enter a secondary educational institution. First-place winners of $100 went to Chloe Sutton for the girls and Tyler Kuras for the boys. Second place of $50 went to Sebastian Cerrie, in the boys division.
