Chautauqua Lake sweeps Brocton to improve to 2-0

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake defeated Brocton, 25-10, 25-5, 25-4, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association league play Thursday.

Brynn Engdahl led the Thunderbirds (2-0, 2-0) with three kills and three aces while Lily Woodis had three kills, two aces and five assists. Jenna Harle added three kills, and Hannah Group had a kill, four aces and two digs.

Chautauqua Lake also won the jayvee matchup.

MICELI BACK IN WIN COLUMN

Maple Grove gave veteran coach Curt Miceli his first win in 32 years when it outlasted Clymer/Sherman, 25-20, 18-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-21

Eliza Dawes led the Red Dragons (1-1) with 12 kills; Sam Snow had 11 kills; Madi Price had five blocks; and Erin Mansfield had 34 assists.

Amaya Lewczyk had nine kills and three blocks with seven aces to lead Clymer/Sherman. Emma Wiggers had six kills while Mikala Einink had 10 assists and 14 digs.

Clymer/Sherman won the jayvee match.

WESTFIELD TOPS BLACK KNIGHTS

SILVER CREEK — Bianca Seger had 10 aces, four kills and four digs to lead Westfield past Silver Creek (0-1), 25-17, 29-27, 13-25, 25-12.

Tanleigh Bestine had three aces and 13 assists; Keara Kincaid had seven aces and 10 kills; and Haleigh Dellow had four aces and four kills for the Wolverines (1-1).

Silver Creek won the jayvee matchup.

PANAMA SWEEPS COUGARS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Jo Bailey had six kills, two blocks and an ace to lead Panama past Cassadaga Valley (1-1), 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

Sarah Harvey had five kills and five aces while Maddie Johnson had 16 assists and five aces for the Panthers (2-0).

Madison Ring led the Cougars (1-1) with three kills, three digs and a block; Brielle LeBaron had three kills, four digs and a block; and Grace Warsitz had two kills, three digs and three aces.

Cassadaga Valley won the jayvee matchup.

OLEAN DOWNS SOUTHWESTERN

OLEAN — Logan Baer had 19 assists, four digs, three aces and a kill while Brynn Ackerman had eight kills, a dig and an assist as Olean swept Southwestern, 26-24, 25-12, 25-20.

Alice Dwaileebe had five kills; Adele Dwaileebe had five kills, 11 digs and two aces; Makenna Pancio had 15 digs; and Grace Parr had three digs and three kills for the Huskies.

Madeleine DuBois led the Trojans with four kills, four digs and an ace; Lauren Cotter had a kill, three blocks and two digs; and Anna Rauh had four kills, two blocks and five digs.
