Fredonia holds off Gators in CCAA volleyball

FREDONIA — Fredonia outlasted Allegany-Limestone in five games, 25-20, 17-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association volleyball match Friday.

Marissa Cash paced the Hillbillies (1-1) with 10 aces, three kills and four blocks. Anna Valone added two aces and 14 kills; Tess Corell chipped in 30 assists; and Maddy Marsh contributed 16 digs.

Jenna Louser had 16 kills and seven blocks for the Gators (0-2). Madison Callen collected eight kills and Violet Nolder had seven kills and two blocks.

PINE VALLY PREVAILS

SALAMANCA — Pine Valley was a 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22 winner over host Salamanca (1-1).

Jaedan Hubbard had two aces, four kills, one assist and one block; Makayla Burch two aces, three assists and three blocks; and Karina Crouse four aces, three kills and one assist for Salamanca.

Pine Valley also won the jayvee game.

C-LV PREVAILS

ELLICOTTVILLE — Cattaraugus-Little Valley swept Ellicottville, 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.
