JCC wrestlers finish 17th at nationals

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — The Jamestown Community College wrestling team wrapped up the 2021 season, placing 17th as a team in the National Junior College Athletic Association Wrestling National Championships.

The Jayhawks finished with 30 team points at the tournament. As a team, Jamestown CC finished second among non-scholarship schools, finishing behind Rochester Community and Technical College. The 30 points scored by the Jayhawks have been the most the team has scored at the national tournament under head coach Kris Schimek since taking over the program.

Jamestown CC beat out Region 3 foe Niagara County CC in the overall standings. The Thunderwolves finished tied for 19th with 26 team points.
